If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or the No-Hype, No-BS, No Spam MAT newsletter.. Thanks for visiting!

No matter if you have experience in developing websites or not, affiliate marketing is not something I would just take shots at in the dark. In order to be successful you have to obtain the training necessary to help you get a running start. If you miss this step you could potentially put yourself into the poor house. Or you will start and fizzle out before you actually make any money worth sneezing at.

So, what do you want to do. Do you want to develop websites or would you like to try your hand at google adwords. I have to tell you, I started with google adwords. And I found it very hard to make substantial money with this system in the beginning. It wasn’t until I read the ebook google 123 that I understood the full potential of google adwords. How to set up campaigns. How to test the campaigns and still stay profitable. How to research my keywords. And many other techniques.

But what about developing websites? I am glad you asked that. I love developing websites. I love the challenge. But their is so much you have to do to start just one website. Between SEO, article writing, and keyword research, these three tasks could keep the beginner busy for at least a few weeks. But why so long? You don’t want to start a brand new website and not get any visitors. In affiliate marketing this is a no no. You have to do your research first so you don’t have to come back later and change everything just to get the first visitor. So let me give you some resources to start with.

  • Affiliate Master Course - This is a free resource. Yes free!!! I found this a year ago and I live by it still to this day.
  • Search Engine Optimization for Dummies - One of the best SEO books I have read thus far.
  • The Super Affiliate Handbook - A good book but it kind of repeats some of the things in the Affiliate Master Course. I would purchase this last.
  • James Martell Affiliate Handbook - Here is a guy who lives what he preaches. He personnally owns over 50 websites that bring in over 20,000 per month. Don’t laugh he showed some of his students his CJ states and money earned. I was truely amazed. His ebook covers everything you will ever want to learn about affiliate marketing. This is a great resource.

These four resources will give you a great introduction to affiliate marketing and I personally own each and every one. They have truely enriched my affiliate marketing career. So lets get started. Stay focused and work the system. Happy Marketing.. And make some money..

An affiliate can be ANYONE. They can be simply a person who desires to make money through affiliate programs, they can be product owners, site owners, large dot coms, off-line businesses or anyone else that can think of a way to integrate the idea into their lives and/or business.

Affiliate programs can be implemented in thousands of ways! Often competitors will cross promote their products or services to each other and use the affiliate program to track the results. Other models will use the pay per click, this is especially good for high traffic sites. For the person at home, who doesn’t own a business but wants to work from home and be independently successful, they can pick topics that suit their interests and start promoting programs that relate. It’s an amazing and wonderful world in the affiliate industry and ever changing.
