The journey has begun. Today I purchased the tools needed to get this venture off the ground floolor and now I am looking at the effects of an increased or decreased traffic to sears outlet with the addition of email marketing. I decided that I need two tools to make this venture happen. One, I needed a way to collect email accounts and two I wanted a special tool to present offers to the audience/visitor. Lets start with number two first. I wanted a hover window/pop up window to get the attention of visitors to my sites. Something that would stand out but would not get blocked by the blocking functionality of most browsers of this day. Well I found a product that claims to get around this issue. It’s call hover ad. What makes this product so special is the windows produce work just like mini internet web editors thus they are not filtered by most pop up blockers. This Hover Ad looks like a Classic Microsoft Window. It can be maximized, minimized, dragged around, resized and of course closed.

Now second I needed a auto responder. I looked at a few systems. Mainly Mail loop by IMC, Get response, and Aweber Systems.

Mail loop is a fantastic product that has a lot of figure set. But my budget did not allow for this product. Even though I wanted it the most because it is a one time fee that I would not have to purchase every month or year. But until I am able to perfect this technique I felt it was important to start small and build my way up. I will revisit this software in the future though.

Next I looked at getresponse.com. I used this service two years ago and I was satisfied with the service but I thought it was a little confusing for a beginner. I would have gone with the program if I did not have this experience the first time. Also, the price is right. For 17.95 a month you can send and receive unlimited autoresponders. That attracted me to this service in the beginning. But I needed to see if their was anything better on the market. So I moved on to the next autoresponder.

Aweber Systems I found this auto responder mainly by accident. I joined another email group and this was the system they were using. It worked pretty good so I decided to try the service out. Its a little more expensive than getresponse but I believe it will be worth the extra expense. When I finally paid for the serve and logged in their was/is lot of documentation to get you started and their is tech support that will walk you through the process of setting up your account. I will test this system and get back with you in the future.

Well Rome did not get built in a day. So I will return with the next part of this case study later.
