3 Resources to Make Money With Facebook

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or the No-Hype, No-BS, No Spam MAT newsletter.. Thanks for visiting!

Last week a run into a very interesting youtube video that really caught my eye.  The video explained the world of facebook and how a affiliate marketer like me could make some substantial money on Facebook.

Now, for those that may want to use Facebook in their affiliate marketing career, Facebook is not a beginning way to emerse yourself into this career.  Making money with Facebook is a very advance technique for making money and it involves either programming an application yourself if you have the expertise or hiring out the project to a programmer.

To most programming themselves is not an option, but hiring out the project is an option is you have the resources.  For me a perfect place to get a facebook programmer is to start at your local college.  College students don’t demand as much as an pro and they are easier to negotiate with.  Also, their looking for strong project that they can put on their resumes.  So don’t be scared to approach a computer science department offering a project that a student can really sink their teeth in.

Now that is out of the way and if you would like to program an application yourself.  Well, here are a few good resources to take a look at that can help you out.  One of them walks a beginner through a entire .Net project on creating your first Facebook application.  I recommend that this be the first exercise that you do.

  2. http://developers.facebook.com/resources.php
  3. http://www.merchantos.com/makebeta/facebook/facebook-php-tutorial/ - This website has links to other websites that touch on php programming.

These are just the tip of the iceburg.  Their is such a brave new world when you embrace the social network and definitly their is a lot of money to be made.

What is your opinion?  Have you ever made any money on an facebook application?  Lets talk about it if you have..

Here are the videos that I spoke of earlier…

My Top Three European Affiliate Marketing Programs

If you have not found out yet, some of the best money to be made now is through European affiliate marketing programs.  I say this because Europeans market has not been saturated as of yet with affiliate marketers trying to make a buck.  Their are still plenty of opportunities for visionary affiliate marketers to build large sites that can attract large amounts of traffic.  But enough about that.  Lets talk about my 3 best European affiliate marketing programs.

1.  eBay.co.uk

eBay continues to surprise me with the depth of markets that they are involved in.  Did you know that they have a auction site in almost all continents and you as an affiliate marketer can build sites to incorporate eBay as a money stream.  And with all the tools that eBay provides they make it easy to put up sites that potentially can make significant money the first day of use.  Payment wise eBay has put together a very unique program that has built in bonuses and significant payout for new bidders to the eBay system.  Currently their payout looks like this:

GBP 0.00 - GBP 999.99 30.00%
GBP 1,000.00 - GBP 4,999.99 32.50%
GBP 5,000.00 - GBP 24,999.99 35.00%
GBP 25,000.00 - GBP 49,999.99 40.00%
GBP 50,000.00 - GBP 99,999.99 45.00%
GBP 100,000.00 - GBP 499,999.99 50.00%
GBP 500,000.00+ 60.00%

These are the percentages that will be received for bidders that you send to eBay for winning bids.  Of course this is in pounds so just put this into a translation program and you will see the power of this system.  As for new bidders that you send to eBay here is the break down of those payouts:

0 - 24 GBP 8.00
25 - 249 GBP 9.00
250 - 499 GBP 10.00
500+ GBP 11.00

So, for each new ACRU that you send to eBay between 1 to 24 you could receive approx. 15.85 US dollars.  And that is just on the first tier.  That makes me very excited.  That I could participate in an international market and make good money sitting here in the US.  To sign up just go to www.ebaypartnernetwork.com and follow their online instructions.  I will probably take a couple of days to get a response back so be a little patient.  In that time start researching some keywords or something.

2.  Amazon.co.uk

Amazon has not missed out on the european action either.  They have a fully functional and decked out site that is just as powerful as their US site.  And all the tools that are accessible from the US affiliate program are also accessible to the UK affiliate program also.  Payout with this program varies.  You can with opt to have a percent per product or you can opt to participate on the tier bases were you have to produce volume to make more money.  I personally like the volume systems because you only have to get 10 products sold under your affiliate account to move up to the 2nd tier.  You start out with 4% return for anything that you sell on this program.  Their are no bonuses but amazon has a large array of products so you should be able to incorporate their affiliate program into any website that you could think of.  And if you can get the traffic up you definiatly will make some money.  To signup just go to amazon.co.uk and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on join Join Associates.  Follow the instructions once you get their.

3.  Neverblueads.com

I just started using this affiliate network but they have a lot that you can recommend to european citizens.  And the great thing about most of the programs on neverblueads are that they free programs.  That means that you can recommend a program and just ask people to try a program free.  If people sign up you get paid.  These are called freebee programs and they have a lot of them to choose from.  Neverblueads also has a lot of other affiliate programs that could make any other site that you are thinking of starting.  Payout for these programs vary from program to program.

How to Set Your Business Up with a DBA

This is a guest post from Emilia.

For the most part, the affiliate industry attracts people who dream about being their own boss and having the amount of work they put into it reflect in the income they earn. It’s all about controlling one’s own destiny.

Some affiliates become so successful that they choose to make a full-time business out it. When this happens, the affiliate will usually have to file a DBA, or a “Doing Business As” form, with the local county administration office.

There are a number of benefits to setting up a DBA. A DBA will enable you to create a business name for yourself, open up a business checking account and have a business phone line installed in your home. This is important because with business accounts, you’ll be able to take advantage of many of the tax benefits that small businesses can be eligible for, such as making certain business-related deductions. Setting up a DBA also makes it easier for you to manage your personal finances separately from your business expenditures.

Now that you know why it’s a good idea to set up a DBA, here’s how to actually do it!

Finding the Name for a DBA

The first step in setting up your affiliate marketing business as a DBA is making sure that the name you have in mind for your business isn’t already in use. Your county administration office will tell you how you can access the database where you can check.

You want to make sure that the name you choose clearly identifies what you do, for example, “A-1 Affiliates.” Now that you have your name chosen and discover that it is not in use, you will have to file the proper paperwork to register the name.

Registering the Business Name

It often varies by state, but most states require that you register the DBA at the county level. Contact your county administration office for the proper registration paperwork.

A filing fee is usually required when you submit your application. The typical filing fee can range between $10 and $50 in most states, but some may charge as much as $100. Once the application reaches approval, some states may require you to publish a notice in the local newspaper that you are doing business as your DBA name.

In most states, if you do business as a fictitious name and the name is not registered, you could face serious legal and/or practical situations. To save yourself plenty of trouble or fines, be sure to follow your state’s guidelines for registering your DBA name.

Your DBA website will help to not only advertise your merchants, but you may be able to set up affiliate-related programs and provide content that can turn into a steady stream of income as your business grows.
