Wordpress Not Good For SEO? Hmmmm

I read a article today that expressed that wordpress was not good for SEO and it was not even good for mini sites.  Kind of a overkill.  Well, I have to disagree.  I believe that wordpress is one of the best programs around for SEO.  Something that with just 10 to 20 min. of work can have enormous SEO effects.

I would have to agree that with the initial install SEO is a little poor.  But, if you know what you are doing the poor can be turned around in a few mins.  It is also something that you don’t have to do so much programming with.  With so many plugins around all the SEO could be done with one or two plugins that do everything that you need to get it up and running.

Now, the default template with wordpress quit frankly is piss poor.  Yes, this is true.  But wordpress.org provides so many templates that are free you will not have any excuse as to having the default template running on a site.

Is wordpress an overkill for mini sites.  Well, I believe that I have touched on this.  I don’t think that it is a overkill.  Mainly once again because of the built in features.

1. RSS
2. Automatic Blog Pinging
3. Database Support
4. Easy back-end
5. Blogroll Features
6. Multiple User features.

These are just a few of the highs of wordpress.  Of course there are low.  With any site, hackers are always looking for ways to get into a unsecured site.  And most often they succeed.  But this should not deter a user from using wordpress.  The positives outweigh the negative.  And the negatives can be correct with plugins and keeping up with the builds of wordpress.

Of course this is my opinion and I use wordpress on the majority of my sites.
